Background: As a canvassing coordinator for the Democratic Party, my main responsibility is to coordinate, organize, and manage various aspects of the canvassing efforts during political campaigns. This role involves reaching out to potential voters directly, building relationships with supporters, and conducting voter registration drives. I am a crucial part of the campaign apparatus for fundraising and mobilizing voters. I am also responsible for ensuring the equal-opportunity employment of a diverse team of canvassers, respecting factors such as gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, and economic status. This job requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as a commitment to providing quality services to supporters. Additionally, I may have additional duties such as managing campaign materials, implementing recruitment strategies, and maintaining records and tracking voter information. Ultimately, my goal as a canvassing coordinator is to increase voter turnout and engage underrepresented communities in the political process.

Roles/Duties:

    • Recruit, train, and manage a team of canvassers to go door-to-door, make phone calls, and distribute campaign literature
    • Set canvassing schedules, assign territories, and set goals for contacts to be made
    • Coordinate with the field director and other organizers to target canvassing efforts in key districts and neighborhoods
    • Work with data team to get walk lists and call lists for canvassers
    • Track canvassing stats and report on progress to measure effectiveness
    • Motivate and coach canvassers to maximize efficiency and contacts
    • Ensure canvassers have campaign literature, FAQ sheets, and are well informed on candidate platforms
    • Serve as the representative of the campaign when interacting with the public during canvassing
    • Adhere to all campaign finance regulations for canvassing activities
    • Participate in canvasses as needed to model effective techniques
