Background: Democratic Jobs  clients are looking for a Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Director in the Democratic campaign is of utmost importance in mobilizing voters and ensuring maximum voter turnout during the election cycle. The primary responsibility of a GOTV Director is to coordinate and oversee all GOTV-related activities, focusing on increasing voter participation and engagement. This includes identifying potential voters, managing and analyzing voter files and databases, and implementing targeted strategies to reach specific demographics such as nonwhite voters, white voters, and democratic voters. In collaboration with grassroots organizations, pro-democracy organizations, and nonprofit advocacy organizations, the GOTV Director works towards reducing disparities in voting and combating legislation on voter suppression. By organizing regional get-out-the-vote campaigns, conducting voter canvassing and events, and utilizing online platforms, the GOTV Director aims to ensure that every eligible voter exercises their right to vote. The role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of key voting legislation, and a commitment to fostering inclusivity and equal access to the democratic process.

Roles/Duties:

    • Create and implement a data-driven GOTV strategy to increase voter turnout among core Democratic constituencies in assigned precincts/districts.
    • Recruit, train and manage a team of staff and volunteers to carry out door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text banking and other GOTV activities.
    • Work closely with the field team to identify and target sporadic or low-propensity Democratic voters for mobilization.
    • Monitor daily voter contact metrics and adjust GOTV tactics as needed to meet voter contact and turnout goals.
    • Oversee staging and execution of Election Day GOTV operations, including poll monitoring, rides to the polls and robo-calls/texting.
    • Ensure proper tracking and recording of all voter contact data using designated databases and systems.
    • Develop and manage program budget and expenditures to maximize impact.
    • Represent the campaign at community events and meetings as an ambassador to the public.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience running successful campaigns along with the strategic vision and leadership skills to guide the candidate to victory. They must be committed to the democratic process and align with the candidate's values.

  • 3+ years of campaign/field experience in GOTV operations, with a proven track record of mobilizing voters.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to use voter information to optimize GOTV strategy.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and project management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for electing Democratic candidates and progressing Democratic causes.
  • Flexible schedule - ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, in the months leading up to Election Day.

  • $50,000-75,000 per year, depending on performance.
