Background: Democratic Jobs clients are looking for Democratic Campaign Manager whose role is critical position that can shape the trajectory of the campaign and influence the candidate's chances of success. It requires a dynamic individual who possesses political acumen, strategic thinking, exceptional leadership, and a deep commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party.
Roles/Duties:
- Developing the campaign's strategic plan and ensuring all activities align with the candidate's platform and messaging.
- Overseeing fundraising efforts to raise money for the campaign through events, direct mail, phone solicitations and more. Ensuring the campaign remains compliant with campaign finance laws.
- Hiring and managing campaign staff including communications directors, field directors, policy advisors, schedulers, volunteers, etc.
- Overseeing the campaign's voter targeting and get-out-the-vote efforts, using data analytics and voter databases to identify and mobilize key voter demographics.
- Advising the candidate on public communications strategy, debate prep, speech writing, talking points and more. Controlling the candidate's message across all media.
- Commissioning and analyzing polling and market research to gain insights into voter preferences and guide campaign messaging.
- Purchasing print, radio and TV advertising to promote the candidate's platform and events.
- Building relationships with community leaders, interest groups and influencers to win endorsements.
- Remaining adaptable, decisive and level-headed under pressure. The ability to troubleshoot problems quickly.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience running successful campaigns along with the strategic vision and leadership skills to guide the candidate to victory. They must be committed to the democratic process and align with the candidate's values.
- 2+ years experience working on political campaigns, preferably at a senior level
- In-depth knowledge of campaign strategy, voter targeting, fundraising, communications, field ops, etc.
- Experience leading and managing a team under high pressure situations
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and make quick decisions with limited information
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with campaign technologies and voter databases
- Knowledge of election laws and campaign finance regulations
- Understanding of the candidate's policy platform and ability to communicate it
- Willingness to work long, irregular hours with frequent travel
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical abilities
- Passion for democratic ideals and the candidate's vision
- Ability to handle stress, conflict and criticism
- Persuasive, charismatic and results-driven work ethic
- Existing relationships with party leaders, donors, strategists and influencers
