They are responsible for overseeing the field organizing efforts within a specific region, ensuring that field organizers have the resources and support they need to effectively organize grassroots activities. Regional field directors are skilled communicators and relationship builders, as they collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior staff, grassroots leaders, and community members. They are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive team, actively recruiting and engaging individuals from underrepresented communities. This position requires flexibility and the willingness to work irregular hours, as field organizing often involves long days, weekends, and evenings. Regional field directors are passionate about issue campaigns, coalition building, and mobilizing supporters to take action. They are the driving force behind implementing the field plan, overseeing voter contact strategies, coordinating door-to-door canvassing, phone banks, and other campaign activities. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. In addition, regional field directors should have reliable transportation and be able to travel within their assigned region. Roles/Duties:

    • Recruit, train and manage a team of field organizers to implement the field strategy across the region. Provide ongoing coaching and support.
    • Work closely with data and targeting teams to utilize voter information and develop field plans.
    • Oversee voter registration, canvassing, phone banking and other grassroots outreach efforts.
    • Engage and recruit volunteers to participate in campaign activities.
    • Represent the campaign at community events and build relationships with key constituencies.
    • Ensure field teams meet metrics and goals for voter contacts, volunteer recruitment, etc.
    • Travel frequently within the region to support field staff and attend campaign events.
    • Maintain an optimistic, motivational attitude to inspire the field team.
    • Report progress and results regularly to the State Field Director.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the campaign.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience running successful campaigns along with the strategic vision and leadership skills to guide the candidate to victory. They must be committed to the democratic process and align with the candidate's values.

  • 3+ cycles of political field experience, including previous regional field director role preferred
  • Ability to manage and develop field organizers
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with voter contact best practices and programs
  • Passion for electing Democrats up and down the ballot
  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours, including weekends
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel frequently
