Background: Democratic Jobs clients are looking for Democratic Volunteer Coordinator for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers for local Democratic campaigns and initiatives. This is a key grassroots organizing position that helps get out the vote and spread the Democratic message in the community.
Roles/Duties:
- Recruit new volunteers by tabling at community events, contacting past volunteers, and promoting volunteer opportunities through social media and local Democratic groups
- Train new volunteers on canvassing, phone banking, data entry, and other skills needed for campaign activities
- Manage volunteer shifts and assignments, ensuring adequate volunteer coverage for door knocking, phone banking, office work, and other needs
- Maintain volunteer contact information, schedules, and data in database or CRM system
- Develop and distribute volunteer training materials and FAQs
- Appreciate and recognize volunteers for their contributions with thank you items and events
- Serve as point person for volunteer-related questions and issues resolution
- Report volunteer participation metrics to campaign leadership
- Perform other tasks to support volunteer program as needed
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience running successful campaigns along with the strategic vision and leadership skills to guide the candidate to victory. They must be committed to the democratic process and align with the candidate's values.
- Passion for civic engagement and the Democratic party
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience training or managing volunteers
- Well-organized with ability to multitask
- Goal-oriented and comfortable taking initiative
- Knowledge of local community and political landscape
- Volunteer management, recruiting, or organizing experience a plus
