Roles/Duties:

    • Plan, coordinate and oversee logistics for Democratic events including venue selection, vendor/supplier coordination, volunteer recruitment, registration, staffing, etc.
    • Develop creative concepts, themes and programming for events that align with the Democratic party's platform and mission
    • Create event budgets and timelines and ensure events are executed within budget and on schedule
    • Promote events through email, social media, and other channels to drive attendance and community engagement
    • Recruit, train and manage event volunteers to assist with setup, registration, greetings, etc.
    • Build and maintain relationships with potential venues, vendors, sponsors, speakers and other stakeholders
    • Ensure all events comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety procedures
    • Evaluate event outcomes, collect feedback, and identify improvements for future events
    • Collaborate with the communications team to publicize and report on successful events
    • Stay up-to-date on current issues and topics relevant to the local Democratic party and community

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience running successful campaigns along with the strategic vision and leadership skills to guide the candidate to victory. They must be committed to the democratic process and align with the candidate's values.

  • 3+ years experience in event planning and coordinating, preferably in a political, nonprofit or community organizing environment
  • Knowledge of the Democratic party's core values, mission and objectives
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience overseeing event budgets and negotiating contracts
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues quickly
  • Passion for civic engagement and community building through events
