Background: Democratic Jobs  clients are looking for Democratic Campaign Manager whose role is critical position that can shape the trajectory of the campaign and influence the candidate's chances of success. It requires a dynamic individual who possesses political acumen, strategic thinking, exceptional leadership, and a deep commitment to the principles of the Democratic Party.

Roles/Duties:

    • Monitor current events, legislation, and policy issues at the local, state, and federal level. Understand how proposed policies align with Democratic party values and goals.
    • Conduct in-depth policy research and analysis on issues such as healthcare, immigration, education, taxes, and more. Synthesize complex policy information into clear briefings, memos, talking points, and other documents.
    • Advise Democratic elected officials, candidates, campaigns, and committees on policy issues. Recommend strategies and messaging based on research and analysis.
    • Draft policy statements, speeches, op-eds, messaging guidance, and other materials that communicate the party's policy agenda.
    • Collaborate with communications and legislative affairs teams to coordinate policy priorities and strategies.
    • Develop relationships with left-leaning think tanks, advocacy groups, academics, and other policy experts to inform research and recommendations.
    • Stay up to date on voting trends, public opinion research, and interests of the Democratic base. Incorporate into policy strategy and recommendations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned related to researching and promoting the party's policy agenda.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience running successful campaigns along with the strategic vision and leadership skills to guide the candidate to victory. They must be committed to the democratic process and align with the candidate's values.

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in policy research and analysis, preferably with a focus on progressive policies.
  • Strong research, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and policy research databases.
  • Ability to synthesize complex policy information into clear documents and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of core Democratic values and policy priorities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
